Reverend Fathers, Clergy and Religious in the SF Bay Area

Coat of Arms

Dear Reverend Fathers, Clergy and Religious

Greetings of Peace and Joy!

According to the 1962 Calendar of the Roman Rite, the Thursday after the Feast of the Most Holy Trinity is the Feast of Corpus Christi, while for the 1970 Calendar of the Roman Rite this feast is celebrated on the following Sunday. This year, we are privileged to host a public celebration of the Feast of Corpus Christi according to BOTH Forms of the One Roman Rite on June 19, 2014 and June 22, 2014 respectively.  This coincides with a Parish Mission from June 19 – 27, 2014 to be given by the Rev. Fr. Paul Nicholson from the Diocese of London, Ontario Canada. It is our hope and prayer that this Mission would “glorify the Blessed Sacrament, and to bring souls to the feet of Jesus, the Divine Lover of souls (1962 Daily Roman Missal – Feast of Corpus Christi).”

On Thursday – June 19th 2014 at 6:30 pm, we are opening the Parish Mission week with a Solemn High Mass in the Extraordinary Form for the Feast of Corpus Christi. A public procession around the grounds of the parish will follow with litanies and benediction at an Altar of Repose and Solemn Benediction at the church to end the solemn festivities. “The full solemnity consists of the Mass of the feast and one general procession of the Blessed Sacrament (The Ceremonies of the Roman Rite Desribed, Fortescue, O’Connell & Reid).”

On the following Sunday – June 22, 2014 at 5:00 pm, the Solemnity of Corpus Christi in the Ordinary Form,  we have scheduled a Solemn Mass in the Ordinary Form with the full solemnity attached to its celebration. This Holy Mass will be followed by a procession, with litanies and benediction at three Altar Stations with the final Solemn Benediction to be given inside the church.

With this in mind, the TLM Society of San Francisco, on behalf of the Rev. Fr. Mark Mazza, would like to invite you to attend the Solemn Feast days and join us in public celebration and witness.  Please be at the parish grounds 30 minutes prior to the Holy Mass. Parking is available at the back of the church on 8th Avenue. On Thursday, we request that clergy wear their Cassocks and bring Surplice, white or gold Stole, and Biretta. On Sunday, if you would prefer to concelebrate in the Holy Mass instead, please bring a white Alb with you – Chasubles will be available at the Sacristy.

We hope to see you on both days and pray that God reward you always!

“May the Lord Jesus Christ in the Most Blessed Sacrament be praised, adored, and loved, with grateful affection, at every moment, in all the tabernacles of the world, even to the end of time!”

Laudetur Jesus Christus et nunc in Aeternum! Amen!
