Last Saturday’s (June 27, 2015) Mass “Mob” at St. Edward’s Church (Newark, CA) to bid farewell to Fr. Jeffrey Keyes, C.PP.S, turned up an estimated 500 people (St. Edward’s has a seating capacity of 450 people) as Fr. Keyes celebrated a Solemn Vigil Mass (Missa Cantata in the Ordinary Form). After mass, the multitude of faithful flocked to the church hall for a potluck reception to thank Fr. Keyes. As mentioned earlier, the weekly 5:30pm Thursday TLM / EF Mass that Fr. Keyes started at St. Edward’s will continue, but it would be celebrated by Fr. Brandon Macadaeg, Parochial Vicar of the Holy Spirit Church (Fremont, CA).
Fr. Keyes has also started a podcast of daily reflections that can be accessed at http://www.fatherkeyes.com/blog — be sure to check out his first podcast here: http://www.fatherkeyes.com/blog/first-day-of-exile
