Solemn High Dominican Rite Mass – April 2, 2016 (10AM) at St. Albert the Great Priory

There will be a Solemn High Dominican Rite Mass tomorrow, Saturday (April 2), 10AM at the St. Albert the Great Priory (6172 Chabot Rd., Oakland, CA). The celebrant will be Fr. Anselm Ramelow, OP, Professor of Philosophy at the Dominican School of Philosophy & Theology. Recitation of the Marian Rosary will follow immediately. Visitors and guests are welcome; pew booklets with the text of Mass in Latin and English will be provided. There is ample parking on the street and in the priory parking lot next to the chapel.

Fr. Gabriel Mosher (OP)’s Solemn Mass in the Dominican Rite (St. Dominic’s, San Francisco, CA)

The newly ordained Fr. Gabriel Thomas Mosher, O.P, continued to celebrate his First Masses of Thanksgiving this past few days. On June 11, 2015, he celebrated a Solemn Mass in the Dominican Rite – A Votive Mass of the Holy Name of Jesus, at St. Dominic’s Church in San Francisco, CA. He was assisted by Br. Chris Brannan, O.P., (Deacon) and Fr. Peter Hannah, O.P. (Subdeacon). Fr. Michael Hurley, O.P., was the homilist. Br. Gregory Liu, O.P., was the Senior acolyte; Br. Joseph Selinger, was the Junior acolyte; Br. Damien Lach, was the Thurifer; and Br. Matthew Heynen, was the Crucifer. Music was provided by the St. Dominic’s Schola Cantorum.

Fr. Gabriel Mosher is scheduled to celebrate a Solemn High Mass (Roman Rite) at St. Margaret Mary’s in Oakland, CA on June 14, 2015, at 12:30pm. There is a special reception following the mass at the Fr. Kozina Hall.

Thursday, June 11, 8 p.m., Solemn High Mass in the Dominican Rite, Votive Mass of the Most Holy Name of Jesus, St. Dominic’s Church, San Francisco CA.

Sunday, June 14, 12:30 p.m., Solemn Mass in the Extraordinary Form of the Roman Rite, External Solemnity of the Sacred Heart, St. Margaret Mary’s Church, Oakland CA. Mass setting will be Missa Cordi Sacro written by the composer Frank La Rocca.

Thank you Fr. Peter Junipero Hannah, Brother Gregory Liu, Brother Thomas Pickett and Brother Christopher for assisting at the Dominican Rite at Star of the Sea Catholic Parish in San Francisco yesterday, July 4, 2014.

Fr Peter, newly ordained on May 31, 2014 imparted first blessings after the Dominican Rite to the people.

Reminder: First Friday Dominican Rite Today

Star of the Sea Catholic Parish in San Francisco will have the Dominican Rite tonight at 630pm. Fr Peter Hannah newly ordained on May 31, 2014 will be the celebrant. We will have an opportunity to have first blessing given by Fr Peter.

Dominican Rite EF Masses Sunday (June 29) and First Friday (July 4)

This Sunday’s regular 11am EF High Mass (June 29, 2014), Feast of Saints Peter and Paul, Fr. Anselm Ramelow, O.P., will celebrating in the Dominican Rite at Star of the Sea Parish (4420 Geary Blvd., San Francisco, CA 94118).

This coming first Friday (July 4, 2014) at 6:30pm, another Dominican Rite High Mass will also be celebrated. This time by Fr. Peter Junipero Hannah, O.P. at Star of the Sea. Fr. Peter Junipero Hannah, O.P., was ordained by His Excellency, Oakland Bishop Michael Barber, S.J at St. Dominic Parish, San Francisco, CA last May 31, 2014. After mass, he will be available to give his first blessing.
