Update as of 3/17/2020: PALM SUNDAY MASS has been canceled
On April 5, 2020 (3:00 PM), there will be a Solemn High Mass in the Extraordinary Form for Palm Sunday at the Church of the Immaculate Heart of Mary (1040 Alameda de las Pulgas, Belmont, CA 94002). The Blessing of Palms and Procession will take place before mass. Click here for details on the COVID-19 guidelines set by the Archdiocese of San Francisco.
Everyone is invited as we celebrate the Feast of the Purification of the Blessed Virgin Mary or “Candlemas” with a Solemn High Mass in the Extraordinary Form and blessing / distribution of Candles, that would take place on February 2, 2020, at 2:00 PM at the Church of the Immaculate Heart of Mary (10040 Alameda de las Pulgas, Belmont, CA 94002). Feel free to bring your own candles for home devotion for the blessing.
Just a reminder about two important Christmastide feasts for this week, starting off with the Feast of the Most Holy Name of Jesus tomorrow (January 5) and the Solemnity of the Epiphany of the Lord (January 6). Our regular EF Mass for the first Sunday of the month (tomorrow – January 5, 2020) will take place at 5:00 PM at the Church of the Immaculate Heart of Mary (1040 Alameda de las Pulgas, Belmont, CA). On Monday (January 6, 2020), a Sung High Mass for Epiphany will be celebrated at 6:30 PM. The solemn blessing of Epiphany water and chalk will then take place after mass. Be sure to bring water to be blessed! The water that is blessed here is accompanied by exorcism prayers along with the litany of the saints, making it quite powerful! It is highly recommended that a gallon bottle container (rather than on a normal-size bottled water) be brought in.
This coming Sunday, December 1st, is the 1st Sunday of Advent. What better way to prepare this holy season by learning Advent chant? The Traditional Latin Mass Society of San Francisco has teamed up with the Church of the Immaculate Heart of Mary in Belmont to launch an Advent Chant Workshop. The schedule is as follows:
November 29, 2019: 6:00 PM – 8:00 PM; November 30, 2019: 12:00 PM – 2:00PM and December 1, 2019: 4:00PM – 5:00PM. The workshop concludes with a Solemn High Mass in the Extraordinary Form. The church is located at 1040 Alameda De Las Pulgas, Belmont, CA 94002. Please invite your family and friends!

Just reminding our readers of the 1st Sunday Traditional Latin Mass scheduled on August 4, 2019 (5:00 PM) at the Church of the Immaculate Heart of Mary (1040 Alameda de las Pulgas, Belmont, CA). For this Sunday, mass will be celebrated by Fr. Michael Rocha (ordained last May and is now Parochial Vicar for the Church of the Epiphany in San Francisco, CA). Father Rocha will be giving his first blessing after mass. Please come and invite your family and friends!
The 4th Sunday of the month is almost upon us, so we are reminding our dear readers that there will be a Traditional Latin Mass on July 28 at 5:00 PM on the Church of the Immaculate Heart of Mary (1040 Alameda de las Pulgas, Belmont, CA). We could always use extra voices, so if you’re interested in singing with the choir, you’re more than welcome to join us for practice an hour before mass. With two masses per month (one on the first Sunday, and another on the 4th), church attendance to these EF Masses is steadily growing. Please continue spreading the word about our masses and invite your family and friends!
Just reminding our readers of the 1st Sunday Traditional Latin Mass scheduled on July 7, 2019 (5:00 PM) at the Church of the Immaculate Heart of Mary (1040 Alameda de las Pulgas, Belmont, CA). For this Sunday, mass will be celebrated by Canon Raphael Ueda (Chaplain for the Immaculate Heart of Mary Oratory in San Jose, CA). July 7 also marks the anniversary of the publication of our Pope Emeritus Benedict XVI’s motu proprio, Summorum Pontificum, so please take a moment to pray for him and his health. We are encouraged by an uptick on mass attendance for the past few months so please continue spreading the word and invite your family and friends!
